St Albans School is a leading independent day school with an outstanding reputation for academic excellence.
We are currently seeking to appoint a native level Spanish speaker to work with our students in order to develop their confidence and skills. The role will involve working with individual students and small groups; practising, coaching and supporting them in other areas such as grammar. Work will also involve team teaching with teachers and working with students to prepare for exam orals.
Experience of supporting teaching staff in a similar environment would be advantageous, as would a recognised teaching qualification. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate resilience, flexibility, be a strong team player with excellent organisation and communication skills. There is a requirement to prepare course material and other learning resources so strong written and IT skills, with a wide range of media, is required. The ability to be able to contribute to an atmosphere that reflects and references the Spanish culture, its traditions and current affairs is essential.
Hours are 12 per week, to be worked on a regular timetable, to be agreed with the Head of Spanish, Monday to Friday, during term time plus up to 2 weeks during School holidays. The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
