Job overview

Spanish Teacher (Part-Time)

Canbury School is a small school which specialises in supporting students who thrive in a school able to offer individual attention. We simply have extraordinary students doing extraordinary things. As a completely mainstream independent school, we have established a reputation for delivering first class education to students of all academic abilities especially students with SEND. We offer a varied and balanced curriculum which allows students to achieve their personal bests – in many cases, beyond previous expectations – in a stimulating, supportive and caring atmosphere.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an environment where students’ behaviour is impeccable, where they treat each other and staff with real respect, have a genuine enjoyment of school and enjoy their learning.

We are looking to recruit outstanding practitioners who are innovative and can inspire students aged 11 – 18 to achieve their full potential and continue their enjoyment of school.

We are looking for a committed part time teacher (0.6 FTE) who is an energetic and enthusiastic Spanish practitioner. With maximum class sizes of fifteen students, we are looking for someone who has experience of teaching Spanish to GCSE. The candidate must be a qualified teacher.

Why Canbury?

We do things differently at Canbury - because we understand that everyone is unique, as such we know that the manner in which we educate and support our students must also embrace those differences to ensure that we harness their individual talents.

If you thrive on seeing the opportunities in a situation, rather than the challenges, then we want to hear from you. We are seeking a talented individual with a ‘can do’ attitude. The Director of Studies will be so much more than the job title.

All staff here act, teach, foster, and mentor in a way designed to bring out the very best in every one of our extraordinary students. We expect the utmost mutual respect from all, and working as part of a team is vital. You should be able to work constructively within a cohesive and busy school.

About our School

Canbury School is an independent day school for boys and girls from the ages of 11 to 18 on the outskirts of London beside Richmond Park. With a total of 75 students on roll, we pride ourselves on truly getting to know each one of our students. All our staff are expected to contribute to the values and ethos of Canbury, making the educational journey for each child stimulating, enjoyable, challenging, and tailored.

We are proud of our broad curriculum, the wide range of qualifications we offer, and the support we are able to provide through small group teaching and, where appropriate, specialist therapists or learning support assistants.

Our School community is a happy and inclusive one, where students support and respect each other. We understand that a child’s well-being is as equally important as their academic achievements, as such we enable students to feel safe, understood, and settled in school.

If you think Canbury School would be a good fit for you, and you for us, we are really looking forward to hearing from you
