Job overview
We are looking for a highly inspirational, energetic and motivational SENCO who is committed and passionate about meeting the needs of our students to help them to achieve their potential. We are seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified SENCO, but will consider applicants with other relevant experience.
We are incredibly proud to be an inclusive and supportive academy; providing care, support and guidance for students with an EHCP and those with additional needs who require adjustments to enable them to thrive. Workington Academy benefits from a Strategic Resourced Provision which caters for a small number of children with Severe Learning Difficulties and those with Physical and Medical Disabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the strategic direction of the SEND department, coordinating effective provision across the academy for students with SEND. The role includes the leadership and deployment of a large team of teaching assistants. The position is a senior one which is an associate member of the Senior Leadership Team.
