Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo)

Working closely with Senior and Middle Leaders in school, the successful applicant will be responsible for the strategic delivery of Learning Support across the school and will lead a team of Learning Support Assistants who are dedicated to meeting the needs of all the pupils in our care. Candidates must be able to establish excellent relationships with pupils, colleagues, families and outside agencies; work efficiently and methodically, paying meticulous attention to detail; demonstrate clear leadership qualities and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The post will involve overseeing the provision of children with EAL and Looked After Children in school. The successful candidate will also be offered the opportunity to train as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and join our Safeguarding Team.
This post, offered on a full time and permanent basis, provides an exciting opportunity for experienced colleagues seeking to further their experience in a high achieving 11-18 school. The successful candidate will have experience of working with Special Needs and Disabilities pupils and their families and, desirably, middle leader or senior leader experience. There will be a reduced teaching commitment with this post and we invite applications from candidates of all disciplines.
