Congleton Multi-Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional teacher to manage and develop the outstanding Special Educational Needs Team. The successful candidate will manage the provision for students with special educational needs, building on the substantial achievements of the present post holder and playing a major whole school role.

The SEND Department is made up of an experienced team of Higher Level / Specialist Teaching Assistants and Teaching Assistants. Working alongside the SEND Team to provide student support are 4 Learning Mentors who are managed by the Assistant Principal in charge of Care, Guidance and Support in the school. Guidance Team Leaders oversee the work of the Form Tutors and monitor the progress of students in their year group. Students are supported in an area of the school called ‘XL’. This includes small teaching and intervention spaces as well as social space for students to go at break times.

Congleton High School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy with a sixth form, located in Congleton, Cheshire. At its most recent inspection, there were 1,103 pupils aged 11-18 on the school roll, including 220 in the sixth form.
