Job overview

 Special Educational Needs TA

A specialist role ideally suited to an individual with previous background in EYFS, SEND, nursing or care, owing to a requirement for key skills working with young people aged 5-19 years who have severe and complex medical and learning needs.

The post is based in a school with students who hold and EHCP and face a number of challenges in their daily lives.  The atmosphere in school is fantastic; warm, welcoming, upbeat and ‘can do’.

Work is tiring but extremely rewarding; never dull and always changing. We are looking for individuals with passion and capability to deliver the best in educational support, creative learning opportunities, behaviour support and personal care to young people.

You may work on a 1:1 basis with certain individuals, work as whole class support, or a mixture of the two.

Key skills required include people skills, high standards of working practice, training in either EYFS, Health and Social Care, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or similar; or, experience with good references from a similar setting. We are keen to meet individuals who have hoist training, Makaton and signing skills and previous experience working with PECs. However we can provide training free of charge, in several of these areas.

Please contact us to register your interest or to arrange a friendly chat.
