Vision for Education, the supply arm of TES, are seeking to appoint a Full-Time Teacher to work in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. This is a full-time position and will begin from September 2018.

The ideal Teacher will be teaching children and young people aged from 9-19 years old with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will be expected to teach a variety of subjects in the curriculum, although your timetable will reflect and focus on subjects you specialise in. The successful Teacher will be expected to have a broad subject knowledge and have the ability to integrate creativity and hands on learning into your lessons and teaching. You will be involved in teaching small groups of learners, as well as on a 1:1 basis and be confident with managing challenging behaviour as and when it arises.

The ideal Teacher will need to be able to work collaboratively with a fantastic team of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) practitioners, and be effectively working towards transforming and developing a lifelong love for learning for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The small Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school is passionate about developing and co-ordinating a bespoke program of learning for all of their students. The school’s vision is to create a holistic and diverse learning environment for all of their pupils. The school have been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in their most recent inspection and they are passionate about forging strong relationships with the local community and ensuring students have the opportunity to complete work-related placements around their studies.

To be considered for this position as a Teacher, you must:   

•Be a Primary or Secondary School Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) OR an Unqualified Teacher/Instructor Tutor with at least 1 years’ experience teaching, planning and marking 

•Either have experience of teaching children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND); Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD) OR have a genuine e passion to work with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) 

•Be flexible, adaptable and able to hit the ground running in a busy and vibrant environment 

•Able to adjust lessons and teaching approaches accordingly to meet the needs of the children you’re supporting 

•Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver imaginative and engaging lessons

 •Have a genuine desire to become part of committed team of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) practitioners

*** Please note, the successful applicant will be expected to attend an interview on Tuesday 22nd of May 2018, teach a lesson and complete some observed activities at the school, before being appointed **
