POSITION:  Special Needs Assistant (SNA) – Two posts

GRADE & SALARY: Sc 4, Pt 7-10 (£20,162 - £21,337) 40 weeks per year pro-rata, dependent on experience

CONTRACT: Post 1 – 30 hours Mondays to Fridays 8:30am – 3:30pm 

Post 2 – 24 hours Mondays to Thursdays 8:30am – 3:30pm 

Fixed-term to support a child with Special Educational Needs.  Should the child leave the school or the funding will be rescinded and the contract will be terminated.

REQUIRED: January 2022 or sooner

We are seeking to appoint two caring and supportive individuals to provide one to one support for children with Special Educational Needs. Each post will be supporting two children.

The successful candidates will have:

• at least two years’ experience of working with children in primary school setting with SEND with significant difficulties.  The level of experience relates specifically to either extensive experience of working with children on the autistic spectrum or significant knowledge of children on the autistic spectrum (ASD) and ADHD,

• a qualification relevant to ASD comparable to NVQ Level 3 (or above), or a higher-level qualification in ASD,

• to be able to provide and deliver supporting strategies for a child with autism and ADHD learning difficulties within the classroom setting and on a 1:1 basis, 

• to develop supportive relationships with a child with Special Educational Needs Coordinator, class teacher, peripatetics and parents,

• Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills,

• good attendance and punctuality.

• You will be working under the direction of the SENCo and the Class Teacher.
