Special Needs Education Officer – Community Rail
Community Rail Lancashire requires a qualified teacher who will work with the education team to assist in the delivery of the Railway Confidence Programme and the Railway Confidence Employment Experience, both programmes for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
The Railway Confidence Programme (RCP) assists young people with special educational needs and disabilities in confidently accessing rail for accompanied and independent travel. The Railway Confidence Employment Experience assists young people with SEND who may consider rail careers in the future, by giving them positive work experiences within rail and community rail and enabling them to assess their skills and goals for the future.
The post holder will be a qualified teacher with experience of working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Teachers qualified within all age ranges and with experience in both mainstream and special needs schools will be considered.
The post holder will be responsible for continued development of both programmes as as well as working with the CRL, Northern and Merseyrail teams to deliver the programmes across Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
This is a part time post and consideration will be given to term time only employment. Part time salary starts at £18,454 per annum. The post is based out of Accrington rail station and involves travel across the North West.
