Are you SEN experienced or with skills you are keen to hone? 

Do you have availability a minimum of one full day per week (up to 5 days for those keen to work full time or on a long term basis)?

Our busiest time of year for teaching work runs from November to June 2019.

Due to a flying start to the year are looking to recruit additional staff to our daily and long term supply team in a brilliant range of schools and settings in West Yorkshire

The work we cover for this Special Needs Supply Teacher is based in PRU, Alternative Provision, Special Needs Schools and Designated Provisions and is organised to meet your own strengths, interests and the needs of students.

Pay for this Special Needs Supply Teacher  role is dependent upon your own experience, whether work is long or short term, level of commitment / planning, and pay policy of the setting itself.  All to be discussed at an initial appointment with us and available prior to accepting work. 

Specific skills we require for this Special Needs Supply Teacher role:

Some experience of working with students with SEND,      additional needs or strong pastoral skills

An aptitude for engaging ‘hard to reach’ students

Patience and positivity in abundance

For SEND – primary , particularly EYFS training is      highly advantageous

Skills in Makaton, with PECs or Sign Language

For SEMH / Alternative provision – experience of      mentoring, coaching, behaviour support/ intervention, training or      experience of supporting students with trauma or Looked After Children

Excellent teaching and learning strategies

Knowledge or training in SEND, Team Teach,      De-escalation is also advantageous

Tuition on the other hand requires you to work independently as opposed to as part of a team and a willingness and an open mind to teach a number of subjects, and commit to a regular timetable.

We support schools with students with Profound and Complex Needs, Medical Needs, Nurture ethos’, Autism Specialisms, Generic Special Needs Schools, Behaviour Units, Specialist Requirements and 1:1 work, Residential Settings, Alternative Provisions, PRU (Pupil Referral Units) and Home / Hospital Tuition.
