Corby Business Academy provides the Secondary Specialist Provision for students with Severe to Moderate Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties for the local area. The equivalent to a Special Needs School the provision has been judged by the Local Authority as Outstanding for the last 3 years. We are an Academy with excellent facilities. Since opening in September 2008, we have been over-subscribed.  The Academy’s Unit Provision is able to address the needs of 75 students with special educational needs ranging from Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties to Moderate Learning Difficulties and ASD. 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic teacher to be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of an appropriate curriculum for students in these provisions.  You will play a key role in this facility including managing support staff and liaising with mainstream staff to include students from the provisions in mainstream lessons should this be appropriate.  

This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative and creative team who care passionately for the students in the provisions.  The curriculum and enrichment programmes for the students are broad and exciting and develop independent living skills.  The opportunities for students include BTEC Vocational courses, NOCN Life skills, AQA Unit Award Scheme, residential experiences, working with other special schools, business enterprise events.

We are proud of the exceptional facilities on offer at Corby Business Academy. The site has an impressive sports provision and the building is arranged with separate faculties radiating from a central mall. It has been designed to ensure maximum visibility and cohesiveness, so that we are all part of one learning community. 

Art, Music and Industrial Design faculty boasts the latest equipment that you would expect to find in any modern creative or technical business, such as Media and Photography software, 3D printers, Design and Technology machines, plus a large workshop and Art rooms. 

The Communication faculty houses English, Media and Drama. It includes a drama suite and a media editing suite complete with Apple iMacs. 

Physical and Natural Sciences is home to Science, Active, Dance, Psychology, and Health and Social Care. It includes science laboratories and a mirrored dance studio. The Library is also a real feature of the Academy. It is well-stocked and resourced, with dedicated library staff who support all aspects of learning. They organise literacy trips, author visits and quizzes throughout the year so that our students are encouraged to develop a love of reading and literature. 

Our professional theatre is the venue for presentations, assemblies, concerts and special events. It is an integral and widely used resource in the Academy. 

We are proud to be part of Brooke Weston Trust, which has grown into a family of 10 primary and secondary schools throughout the East Midlands, united by our mission and values. More than 7,000 students between the ages of 3-18 are now educated in a Brooke Weston Trust school, supported by more than 1000 passionate members of staff.
