Pay: £10 - £11 per hour

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for the role is 6 months minimum experience working with children and young people with Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour either in a school or care setting or similar.

Contract dates: Immediate Start – Full time. 08:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday. Term Time only

Summary:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be working closely with children and young people aged between 4 and 16 years old who have Learning Disabilities, Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental health issues. Special needs Teaching Assistants are responsible for supporting Class Teachers with managing pupil behaviour as well as keeping them engaged in their learning. To be considered for this role, you need to have an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of young people living with learning disabilities.

Located in West Leeds, this school provides provision for children with Learning Disabilities and is passionate about providing the best support and care possible to their pupils. 

Requirements to be considered for the Special Needs Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Have 6 months minimum experience working with children, young people or adults with Learning Disabilities

• Be available Monday – Friday 08:30 – 15:30.

• Have a desire to improve the lives of young people.

• Be energetic and enthusiastic.

• Be Team Teach Trained or be willing to attend the two day training course provided by Vision for Education. 

• Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for you through Vision for Education.
