Job overview

Contract:   Permanent & Fixed Term

Orchard Hill College (the College) and Orchard Hill College Academy Trust (the Trust) together form Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust (OHC&AT), a family of specialist education providers for pupils and students from nursery to further education.

The Link Secondary School provides specialist teaching and therapy for up to 60 children aged 11 to 18 years whose primary need is Speech, Language and Communication. Some young people may also have additional learning or sensory integration needs. A large percentage of young people also have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

We are looking to recruit Special Support Assistants who have a genuine belief in person centred teaching and a commitment to the education and development of young people with SEN.

We are committed to providing our students with an outstanding education. Improving opportunities and outcomes for our students is at the heart of all that we do. We believe that all young people deserve to leave education confident that they have developed the skills they need to achieve their ambitions, with meaningful education, work and life experiences to draw on.

As a special support assistant attached to the school you may be required to work alongside particular tutor groups and support the young people across all curriculum areas. Support assistants with a particular skill in a subject specific area may also be asked to be attached to a subject department and support the teaching of a particular subject across the school.

In addition to the role of Special Support Assistant you will also be responsible for supporting aspects of teaching and learning in school with appropriate intervention work.

To apply please complete the application form on the TES website.

Please note that CV applications will not be considered.
