Special Support Assistant, The Link Primary School

Salary:  Scale 1C\3 £18,322 - £19,677 per annum inclusive of London Weighting Allowance  (FTE £21,397 - £22,980 per annum)

Location:  The Link Primary School, Beddington, CR0 4PG

Working Pattern:  36 hours per week, Term Time Only (44.65 weeks per year)

The Link Primary School is part of Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust providing non-residential, specialist teaching and therapy for 59 children aged 4-11 years whose primary need is Speech, Language and Communication. Many of the pupils are also on the autistic spectrum and have a wide range of cognitive and sensory need.

We are looking to recruit a Special Support Assistant at The Link Primary School who has a genuine belief in person centred teaching and a commitment to the education and development of young people with SEN.

The school has a warm, safe, friendly and nurturing environment which helps children to learn, express their ideas, communicate, develop friendships and grow in confidence and self- esteem. You will need experience and a willingness to manage children with ASD (both verbal and non-verbal) and SLCN. 

We are particularly looking for staff with strong emotional intelligence and an ability to understand and come alongside children with high level anxieties.
