‘There is a bright and stimulating environment for children in the early years to learn in, including sensory rooms for those children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities’ Ofsted 2016

Beacon Academy in Loughborough is a positive, nurturing and inspiring learning environment that provides a happy, caring community where everyone is encouraged and supported to achieve their goals. Our children are keen to learn, are well behaved and want to achieve their best.

We are a popular school in our community and within commutable distance of Derby, Nottingham, and Leicester and close to the M1 and M42 motorways. Our ever-improving school is on the journey to good, and we have a great team of teachers and staff who are all dedicated to getting there quickly.

Our Nursery setting has, over the last few years, grown and developed and we are proud to provide a fully inclusive offering to all our children. We employ specialist placement officers who take a lead in working with children with both SLD and MLD needs and making sure the support offered is tailored and effective.

We are looking for someone who has proven experience in working with children with SLD/MLD needs within a day care setting and would relish the chance to lead the room.  Experience within the field of paediatrics is a distinct advantage.

Are you:

  • Someone who is experienced in working with children with additional needs and their families, ideally in a nursery setting?
  • Committed to children’s success regardless of their starting point?
  • An individual who has the ability to form positive relationships with parents, children and the whole school community?

We can offer you:

  • Enthusiastic, friendly, well behaved children
  • A supportive, friendly and committed staff team and governors
  • A bespoke CPD programme
  • A creative and innovative environment

Visits to the Nursery are strongly recommended. Please contact Mrs Beadle (Nursery Manager) on 01509 264876 or contact the school office on 01509 212227.

As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them.  In each of the AET academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.  You will also be offered membership to a variety of benefits, including Childcare Vouchers and Westfield Rewards.

This position is required to commence as soon as possible.  Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing Monday 2 October 2017.

Closing date: Sunday 24 September 2017.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response.  All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.
