Job overview

Reporting to: Head Teacher

For September 2018 or Jan 2019 start, Cruckton Hall Limited is looking to recruit several specialist teachers to join the team of staff at our school in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

Cruckton Hall is an Independent special school which offers a wide range of educational pathways to pupils across key stages 2, to 5. Traditionally many are entered for a wide range of public exams ranging from Entry Level to GCSE. Due to the residential nature of our provision some may continue to study at local further education colleges, local vocational provisions or at our dedicated post16 site.

The school is entering an exciting phase of development and we are looking for teachers with the drive, passion and experience to help expand our educational provision. We are looking to recruit multi skilled teachers across a range of subject areas but would welcome applications from those with a background in Science, Outdoor Education, Music, MLD, Autism and those with experience of working within Nurture type provisions. Other subject areas will also be considered.

Cruckton Hall School is rated ‘Good’ for both its education and care provision. It currently caters for boys with a range of difficulties within the Autistic Spectrum of Disorders, and specialises in integrating young people with asperger’s syndrome, associated vulnerability and/or challenging behaviour into community life. We are seeking to expand our offer to include pupils with mild and moderate learning difficulties.

With the support of the school’s parent company, Kisimul Group Limited, Cruckton Hall has continued to support a variety of needs and now boasts residential provision as a children's home registered for young people who require placements up to and including 52-week provision. Cruckton can provide continuous support for boys from 8 years old into adult life through a variety of school, children’s and adult services.

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Teacher (QTS or QTLS) and have experience of working in special educational needs education at Primary, Secondary or Post 16. They will also meet the requirements of the person specification and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Only applications submitted on the school’s application form will be considered. The application form can be obtained from the school. We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
