Outwood Academy Riverside is an 11-16 provision which opened in September 2020 as part of the Free Schools Programme. As part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust, the academy provides an exceptional provision for young people in our local community, ensuring Students first: raising standards and transforming lives in the heart of Middlesbrough. Riverside is a special place to work, as there is a genuine care for each other. The Riverside community is proud of who we are and what we stand for which is kindness, compassion and a place to nurture our talents and develop our skills.

At the start of each academic year all students are inducted into the Riverside values program. This teaches them to understand how to master their emotions, develop their knowledge and wisdom, become kind and compassionate individuals, learn how to protect themselves and their ideals, develop a healthy respect for staff and students, see the importance of truth, integrity and loyalty, be courageous in situations that are difficult, be proud of who they are and be ‘lionhearted’ and fearless in the pursuit of their own happiness.

We are recruiting exceptional individuals who will join the founding team members here at Riverside. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity and one that is quite unique.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with members of our Inclusion Team and will require the energy and creativity to develop and inspire students learning. A key focus will be to support student intervention and increase student’s ability to access all areas of the curriculum. You will embed and develop literacy and numeracy skills, working proactively with other members of the Inclusion Team to improve attainment, by adopting a personalised approach towards planning and delivery of a bespoke curriculum

There is an Academic rigour which is expected from all members of staff. Students are not capped by their key stage and are developed further to achieve more. There is an expectation that staff fully challenge students and that they strive to be locally and nationally recognised in their roles.

At Outwood Academy Riverside we have high expectations because our children and staff deserve nothing less. Would you like to be part of this journey?

If you genuinely love working with children, will go above and beyond for our young people and want to work as part of an inspirational and dynamic team that are proud to be creating local history, then we would love to hear from you
