About you: 

We seek to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced Specialist Technician & Classroom Assistant: Audio-Visual (Media & Studios)  for an Immediate start / February 2023. This is a crucial supporting position in the Design and Technology subject area.


The following items are included in the professional duties that a technician may be required to perform under the reasonable direction of the Principal. 

Main Duties 

 ·       To provide technical support to teaching staff and classes 

 ·       To adopt a flexible style in order to tackle a range of routine duties in the TV/Radio Studios and Media classrooms 

 

Specific Duties 

 ·       To be responsible for the department’s media equipment and loans to students/staff. 

 ·       To support students with the use of media software such as Premiere Pro and Photoshop in the classroom. 

 ·       To provide workshops for staff and students regarding the use and set up of audio and visual equipment 

 ·       To be responsible for the booking and use of the TV Studio and to support students and staff, including primary, with the use of the green screen.  

 ·       To ensure all resources are catalogued, compliant and stored safely when not in use. 

 ·       To arrange external maintenance of audio-visual resources where necessary, ensuring that repairs are carried out in a timely and cost effective manner. 

 ·       To support secondary staff with the audio visual components of their courses such as Oral examinations and Drama coursework performances. 

 ·       To develop and maintain links with professional bodies and complete ongoing training as appropriate 

 ·       To offer teaching staff training support with technical equipment 

 ·       Support lessons and work alongside teachers during designing and making activities to aid pupil progress. 

 ·       Prepare materials and/or resource packs for teachers and pupils’ design based

projects. 

 ·       To create professional promotional material for the faculty such as show reels and support with the Young Reporters blog and social media. 

 ·       To promote the faculty through the school's social media handles 

 ·       To maintain all media hardware and software within the faculty. 

 ·       To support the AV Auditorium Technician with Secondary events set up. 

 ·       To support the AV Auditorium Technician with all A/V aspects of the Secondary School Production 

 ·       To oversee the production of high-quality video recordings of the Secondary School Production, including the support of pupils in filming and post-production editing 

 ·       Carry out such other duties as reasonably fall within the purview of this post as designated by the Faculty Leader. 

  

Skills we are looking for: 

 ·   Excellent Communication Skills 

 ·    Excellent organisational skills  

 ·    Proficient in Editing software such as Premiere Pro and Photoshop 

 ·    Should also have a meticulous attention to detail, especially with regard to health and safety. 

 ·    Experience of working with children and/or TV production would be an advantage
