Join our team to make a difference!

A great opportunity to join an expanding team of therapists working at Nightingale Community Academy and across a collaborative of similar units, in partnership with Wandsworth NHS and CAMHS. A team made up of Systemic Child & Family Therapist, Psychotherapist, Clinical Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.

We are seeking a Speech and Language therapist who has the drive to develop and work with young people with challenging behaviour within a school context. This will need to include an integrative approach that is responsive to individual needs.

To be responsible for organising and delivering therapy services to children and young people attending the school. Nightingale Community Academy (NCA) is a special school that supports boys and young men with complex emotional and mental health needs, many of which have experienced trauma and multiple exclusions.

As well as delivering Speech and Language therapy sessions to the young people attending NCA, you will communicate with CAMHS and other therapists at the nearby Primary and Secondary PRU. This may include participating in Peer Supervision and reciprocal arrangements for one to one and group work.

The Orchard Hill College Academy Trust (OHCAT) is a multi-academy trust, which became the sponsor of Nightingale Community Academy on 1st September 2016. The Trust is a specialist provider with a strong track record in contributing to improving the education offer for young learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Since the start of the school in September 2016, the principal and his leadership team have shown a tireless determination to improve the education it offers. Their ‘no excuses’ approach means that nothing other than the highest quality of education is good enough (Ofsted February 2019).

Nightingale Community Academy caters for learners aged 5-19 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health as their primary SEN need. Some learners also have Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, or other learning difficulties. At Nightingale Community Academy, we are committed to raising the expectations of our learner group, removing barriers to learning and delivering attainment at the highest level.
