ICS is an independent IB School with 40 years’ history, providing an international IB education to students aged 3 - 18 in Central London.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with children with SEN (Special Educational Needs). This is a maternity cover position with a possibility to become a permanent replacement.

The main purpose of the role is to provide support for our secondary students who have various levels of speech and communication needs. You will actively influence curriculum design to develop the communication skills of all students as well as providing tailored, individual programmes and support for students whose speech and language needs are a barrier to progress.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to develop, plan, lead and deliver high-quality speech therapy interventions to IB MYP and Diploma students
  • Be part of a multidisciplinary team that are consistent in providing children with an exceptionally good teaching-learning environment.
  • Be part of an inclusive international school aiming to integrate students with special educational needs successfully in the mainstream curriculum

Why work for ICS?

  • Fantastic support from your colleagues and line managers who genuinely want to see you succeed and thrive
  • Great opportunity to deliver speech and language interventions to international students
  • Opportunities to collaborate with experienced teachers and observe students in the classroom, consult with teachers and have the chance to generalize your interventions in the school environment
  • Small friendly environment. Only 120 students in the school. You will get to know every single student in the school!
  • Minimum 13 weeks holiday (our summer holiday starts at the end of June)
  • Central London location. We are promoting a good work-life balance. You could enjoy an evening picnic in Hyde Park after work.
  • Great team-work in a thoroughly collaborative environment
  • Opportunity to work with and learn about many different cultures – we are an International School!
