Hours: 14 hours per week over two days (term time only, maternity cover contract)

We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated Therapy team on a fixed term, part time basis. This role is to cover maternity leave for 4 months, between the end of August until the end of December.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work proactively to manage a large caseload of learners with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder 
  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a wider multi disciplinary team
  • Carry out both formal and informal assessments
  • Manage, plan and provide therapy sessions
  • Liaise and feedback to Learning Support Workers, parents and other staff members
  • Devise, monitor and reassess tailored targets
  • Engage with and contribute to education meetings and transition plans for learners
  • Deliver training if required
  • Maintain contemporaneous case notes
  • Manage and maintain a total communication approach to the environment.

Travel between campuses is required so a full driving license is essential for this role.  Experience of working with children with autism and/or additional needs is essential.
