Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications, and contract requirements. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is Degree level or equivalent.

The role - We are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual with previous experience of working with children who have Specific Learning Difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyscalculia and dysgraphia. The opportunity is temporary to commence as soon as possible to assist the Head of SpLD continue with the 1to1 learning support. They are flexible and can cater to 3 - 5 days per week, 9am until 5pm.

Responsibilities -

  • Provision of specialist learning support, teaching and supporting learners to overcome barriers to the full achievement of their potential
  • To plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate teaching to individual pupils identified as in need of additional support due to having specific learning difficulties and or special educational needs.
  • To produce and review individual learning plans
  • Support and liaise with subject staff, tutors and HMMs as necessary
  • To produce learning support reports
  • Assist in gathering evidence to support access arrangements
  • Updating pupil information and adding to management system
  • To plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate teaching to individual pupils identified as in need of additional support due to having specific learning difficulties and or special educational needs.
  • Use IT to a competent standard for teaching, reporting and communication individual needs
  • To attend departmental meetings as required
  • To attend school inset meetings as required
  • Communicate with parents and attend parent’s evenings
  • Willing to share resources and best practise with the rest of the teaching staff

Requirements

  1. SpLD qualification at level 5 or level 7 OR Qualified Teacher Status
  2. Experience working with children who have SpLD (Specific Learning Difficulties)
