Job overview
2 Year Fixed Term Contract
As a result of Sport England investment, a Sports Activator is required to join the Sports Development team at Kingston College.
Reporting to the Tackling Inactivity Project Lead, you will play a key role in planning, administering and delivering a new programme of sport and physical activity aimed at female learners aged 16+. As an inspirational role model, the main purpose of the Sports Activator will be to recruit and lead female learners to participate in activity within both college and the wider community so that they may adopt regular 1 x 30 minutes of weekly activity and sustain a sporting habit for life.
We’re looking for an individual who is knowledgeable and experienced in coordinating sport and physical activity sessions for female participants; from the planning stages through to delivering and evaluating. Inspiring and passionate in your approach towards engaging females in sport and physical activity, you will be a pro-active team member and contribute fully to the work of the College Sport Maker and its professional aspect. You’ll be flexible, diligent in meeting deadlines and able to work well with other staff, outside agencies and with learners.
A Level 2 Fitness or Coaching qualification would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of working within a sports development/sports coaching background.
This role is part time (0.6) and a 2 year fixed term contract.
The post will be based in Kingston College.
Closing date for the return of a complete online application form is 4th January 2019.
