The John Lyon School is a successful and well regarded independent day school situated in Harrow on the Hill. With Sport being an integral part of both our curricular and extra-curricular offer, John Lyon is seeking to appoint a passionate and dynamic Sports Coach & PE Technician in order to assist in this highly successful area of School life. This is a wonderful opportunity to join the School at such an exciting time for sport, with the introduction of girls into the School and the growth and recent success of the department across several sporting disciplines. 

The successful candidate will join the School’s ambitious and dedicated Sports Department and be expected to contribute within all area of the busy sporting life of the School. They will possess a high level of playing and/or coaching experience, allowing them to assist with and support the teaching and coaching of both Physical Education and Sport across the curriculum and all year groups, with a specific interest and ability in at least two of the School’s major sports (Netball, Cricket, Football, Hockey). The post holder will be heavily involved in the extensive extracurricular and cocurricular programme while supporting the delivery of PE and games lessons and importantly will be able to provide full administrative support to the Director of Sport and the department This role would suit a Sports Science or Sports Studies graduate or a well-qualified Sports Coach however variations on this will be considered. Previous experience is not essential for the PE aspect of the role but a desire to develop and enhance our pupil’s outcomes is essential.

The School has some fantastic sporting facilities, including a 25-metre swimming pool, multi-use sports hall, fitness suite and all-weather practice pitch as well as our 25-acre sports ground at Sudbury Playing Fields which includes a state of the art all weather AstroTurf and numerous cricket, football and other sporting pitches.
