We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sports Coach for a September start at The Barnehurst Federation of Schools.  Our sports coach will play an important role supporting the development of Sport and PE with classes across the school, from Reception to Year 6.

The role will include working with a range of groups and whole classes, developing children’s physical literacy skills, knowledge and positive attitude through a range of sports and physical education opportunities.   The successful candidate will also be required to teach model lessons, to ensure continuous high quality professional development in PE for all staff.

Additionally, the role will include the provision and management of a range of after school sports opportunities and clubs and taking a lead with the development of school sports teams, attending tournaments and matches.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has enthusiasm, commitment and a positive outlook.
  • Experience of coaching children from Reception to Year 6, preferably in a school environment.
  • Knowledge and competence in a teaching a range of sports, suitable for primary age children.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Strong positive behaviour management skills and the ability to motivate children.
