Sports Graduate Assistant
September 2019- July 2020
37 ½ hrs per week term time only
£9.00 per hour
A full-time Sports Graduate Assistant is required to assist the PE Department. The post would suit someone with a Sports Science or sports related degree or equivalent, who has a passion for Sports and is looking for experience in a school with the possible aim of entering the teaching profession.
No formal teaching experience is required but an understanding of the expectations required at a thriving school such as Kent College Pembury is beneficial.
The role involves working closely with the Director of Sport and Head of Academic PE, the Heads of individual sports and PE staff across the Preparatory and Senior School. We are particularly seeking someone with playing and/or coaching experience in hockey or netball.
The Sports Graduate Assistant would be expected to assist in curricular sports clubs and with sports camps and pre-season in the holidays if they so wish.
• Assist PE staff members with the delivery of lessons
• Assist with PE and fixtures administration
• Coach and umpire teams in numerous sports each term.
• Complete tasks involving general administration and supporting the team in the preparation for key events.
• Play a full role in the life of the School, including Saturday morning sports fixtures.
• Complete day to day tasks to assist in the smooth running of the extra-curricular programme.
Founded in Folkestone in 1886, Kent College is an independent day and boarding school for girls, with a Senior School (ages 11-18) and Preparatory School (ages 3-11) sharing the same site, facilities and some specialist staff.
