Sports Teacher

Chepstow House School is looking for an inspirational Sports Teacher to take up an already established post in April 2022 for a fixed one term only. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified, passionate sports teacher to join our sports department, which holds great importance in the everyday life of the school. The departmental ethos emphasises both high standard competition as well as ‘sport for all’. The position would involve attending fixtures throughout the year. A specialism in netball or hockey (plus the ability to referee matches) would be advantageous. Confidence in teaching dance and/or gymnastics would also be beneficial. Sports lessons will be taught daily as well as contributing fully to the life of the school, taking extra -curricular activities and being involved in everyday school duties. The post holder could be a qualified teacher or sports coach.

Job Summary

The duties and responsibilities of the Sports Teacher are to plan and teach an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum in order to provide pupils with an opportunity to develop and improve both their physical skills and interpersonal skills, and ultimately achieve their individual potential. They will be involved in the teaching of the whole KS1 and KS2 Physical Education curriculum.

The Sports Teacher is responsible to the Head of Sport, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and ultimately the Head.
