The Headteacher and the Governors of the Hammersmith Academy Trust invite applications for two Academic Mentors in Maths and Science to support us to improve progress for KS4 students, to increase motivation and enjoyment of Maths and/or Science and to increase the number of students choosing STEM courses at University.
Hammersmith Academy is a heavily oversubscribed and successful inner-city school that has been judged Good in our most recent OFSTED report (2017).
Our Sponsors, the Mercers’ Company, have provided additional funding to support our students with a passion for STEM subjects to enable them to not only choose STEM courses at University but to receive offers and take up their places.
You will be joining a highly motivated and passionate group of staff who work tirelessly in the best interests of the students.
This is an excellent opportunity for personal and professional development as your role evolves and subject to funding, this role may be extended for the next academic year.
Applications are welcomed from recent graduates with a Science or Maths degree. Applicants should be passionate about supporting students, especially from a disadvantaged background, and about improving attitudes towards STEM subjects.
Please complete the application form, which includes a supporting statement, and a monitoring form. CV's alone will not be accepted.
