Due to continued expansion of this highly successful school, governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, committed, outstanding teacher of Physics to support the continued development of teaching and learning within their faculty and across the organisation. This role provides the opportunity to work as part of an established team of excellent teachers from around the curriculum. The successful candidate would be joining an outstanding team which has consistently performed well above national averages. It is expected that applicants would be able to teach with confidence to Key Stage 5 in their specialism.

St Mary's College is a Catholic Secondary School and Sixth Form situated in the city of Hull.

The school’s mission statement is educate students spiritually, morally, physically and academically to make them well-rounded human beings. St Mary’s College believes every student has the right to a full and exciting education. The school curriculum is rooted in the faith, practice and moral teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.

St Mary’s College's sporting achievements have set it apart from other schools and its facilities have helped many pupils get involved with sports. Various extracurricular activities are also offered to pupils, from Budding Entrepreneur club to Backstage club. St Mary’s status as an International School has helped it foster a cultural and community feel. From the Green Generation project with Slovenia to an ICT project with Kenya and Nigeria, international schemes help to teach pupils about other cultures.

In our most recent OFSTED inspection (October 2023), St Mary’s College was judged as OUTSTANDING in all areas, with the inspectors stating: ‘St Mary’s College is a highly ambitious school,’ with this ambition evident, ‘in all areas of the curriculum’.
