An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stoke on Trent Schools & Colleges PSHE Education Coordinator to support all schools within the Stoke-on-Trent Association of Schools, Colleges and Academy Leaders (SASCAL) in the development of PSHE education across the city.

Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, on behalf of the SASCAL, is looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join its team to work with educational establishments in Stoke-on-Trent to support the development and delivery of age appropriate, good quality, consistent PSHE education.  

The focus of this post will be community safety-related topics such as Gangs and Youth Violence (including knife crime), Child Abuse and Child Sexual Exploitation, Substance Misuse, Child Criminal Exploitation, Antisocial Behaviour, Online / Internet Safety, Personal Safety, Healthy Relationships / Sexual Health, Fire Safety, Extremism / Radicalism. 

The post holder will map current PSHE education provision, support educational establishments to access relevant, good quality training and resources and build and maintain a network of contacts within the local area to advance PSHE education activity.    

The successful individual will have a passion for supporting children and young people to be safe and healthy.  They will have excellent communication and project management skills, be able to operate autonomously and have a strong work ethic.  They will have an in depth knowledge and understanding of PSHE education, alongside experience of working with educational establishments and operating effectively in partnership.   

Applicants should be educated to degree level or possess a teaching qualification. 

The post is initially a 3 year fixed term post, and will be based at Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy with hot desk facilities at Police Head Quarters / venues.

There will be a requirement to travel throughout the City, and on occasion, into the County.
