Swanshurst is a large, “Outstanding” and oversubscribed school. We expect the best from everyone who walks through our door as we strive to be a provider of an exceptional education to all pupils in our care.  The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced and highly effective professional who can lead the ICT provision and strategic, innovative development of technology across the school. This role provides the ideal opportunity for someone with relevant knowledge, skills and experience to expand their breadth and scale in a large environment with a team of technicians. The role will be integral to driving forward the school’s digital strategy.  

We invite applications from those who have broad and demonstrable experience of IT network management, development and innovation within or outside of education.  

What we are looking for an effective manager who is able to demonstrate:

• The leadership qualities to be a prominent stakeholder in the development and maintenance of IT systems, cyber security, cloud platforms and connectivity 

• Strong communication skills across a diverse workforce and pupil community  

• The knowledge to maintain excellent IT services in a fast-paced environment

• The knowledge and skills needed to prioritise and manage the day to day as well as to strategically lead development priorities

• The initiative to find solutions whilst keeping an eye on the horizon to ensure provision for pupils and staff remains at the forefront of technology available to education 

• The ability to manage all aspects of related compliance 

• The resilience and tenacity to ensure provision and outcomes are outstanding; the ability to think and do it, not just talk it

• Excellent attention to detail and a strong track record

• A relentless commitment to outstanding support for staff and pupils

• A driving ambition to make a difference 

• The interpersonal skills to grow and develop highly effective teams
