Holy Family and St Mary’s present an exciting opportunity for an experience school business manager to take strategic responsibility for two thriving schools and join their vibrant communities.

Salary Range: Hay 6

As the Strategic School Business Manager across the two schools, you will be a valued member to the senior leadership teams and contribute significantly to the effective management and running of our vibrant schools. The right candidate will therefore contribute to the overall organisation, management and direction of the two schools. This is a unique opportunity and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Your new role

Will consist of:

  • Maintaining the budget(s) of the two schools - providing advice and guidance to shape their strategic direction.
  • Oversee and manage the schools’ financial processes and systems – including processing and authorising invoices and allocation of income.
  • Strategically manage, monitor and report on the school’s budget on a monthly basis, running budget monitoring reports and variance analysis for the schools.
  • Manage and maintain the school risk register, update monthly and share with Headteachers, ensuring that all risks are captured and documented and mitigations are put in place.
  • Responsible for the oversight of all school risk assessments.
  • Responsible for the security, monitoring and control of access to systems.
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of inventories and records of all school resources and ensure that staff comply with recognised procedures.
  • Be proactive with sickness management, capability and disciplinary procedures, informing HR.
  • Oversee the communication of HR processes and HR record keeping in school via school systems.
  • Manage the payroll system ensuring a knowledge of payroll process, contracts and policies to effectively.

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Experience of working in busy office environments - managing priorities, developing staff and leading on projects.
  • Experience of budget planning and financial forecasting within the context of strategic organisational planning.
  • Experience of resource management and procurement.
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety regulations within school environments.
  • Understanding of routine HR processes and procedures.
  • Be able to work flexibly to get the job done on time, manage responsibilities across two schools and ensure work is carried out to quality standards.
  • Willingness to support leaders where necessary and work outside of normal school hours.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal training and development.
  • Ability to manipulate financial information and produce reports, working to tight deadlines.

This is a permanent role which can contribute significantly to the development of our schools and it is 37 hours per week and term time only.

This role will require an Enhanced DBS.
