Due to continued growth and success, Didsbury High School is looking to appoint a pro-active and organised Student Administration Support Officer on a Fixed Term Contract until July 2021, however for the right candidate this may lead to a permanent opportunity. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Laurus Trust family, and to play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the Trust. Support staff work tirelessly to ensure all services run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teaching staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for our students.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain student records in SIMS, information files and the school roll, and create and maintain staff SIMS logins.
  • Be the first point of contact for all SIMS related queries for students, staff and parents.
  • Track absence, attendance, behaviour records, creating reports when required.
  • Actively work towards reducing absence and improving punctuality by tracking and maintaining contact with the all stakeholders.
  • Issue ParentPay invitations, add payment items and manage student and staff balances.
  • Manage, import and process the new intake data in conjunction with SIMS.
  • Maintain student paper records including archiving student leavers at the end of the academic year.
  • Input class changes and produce timetables for students, staff and groups of students.
  • Produce registration group lists and class lists as well as populating classes for the new academic year and issuing new timetables.
  • Provide SIMS training to new staff.

Key Skills & Experience

  • You must have prior experience of using SIMs.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail is essential.
  • It would be advantageous to have a relevant Level 3 Business qualification.
  • Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a school environment would be beneficial.
  • Ideally possess prior experience within a similar role.

About Didsbury High School

Didsbury High School is a new secondary free school for 11-18 students in South Manchester. The school is run by the Laurus Trust and replicates the outstanding education already provided by the Trust’s founder school, Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS), based in Stockport. CHHS is a hugely oversubscribed school and was recently named as one of the UK’s top-performing schools in The Sunday Times, ranking as the 15th non-denominational comprehensive school in Manchester and the North West in the annual Parent Power Survey for 2022.

Didsbury High School is the most oversubscribed first preference school in Manchester, we are a non-selective, non-denominational school, which opened in September 2019. We currently have students in Years 7 to 11 along with our brand-new sixth form that opened in September 2023 with students in Year 12. We currently have a total of 1092 students on roll.

Our students have access to state-of-the-art facilities in a brand-new building behind Didsbury Point. Didsbury is a suburban area of Manchester, 4.5 miles south of Manchester City Centre. The location enjoys the advantages of proximity to the open countryside of Cheshire and the Peak District, strong transport links and the cultural and sporting activities of a major city.
