Pro Rata Salary: £13,260 to £13,659

About the role:

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Student Counsellor to provide counselling to 16-18 age group and adults learners at our Centre for Applied Sciences. You will manage your own case load and work with other support staff to enable students to successfully complete their courses of study. Duties will include providing a welcoming first point of contact for counselling clients, clarifying the role of counselling in the College context, assessing student requirements including risk assessments, and agreeing the counselling service to be provided or referring where appropriate to external agencies.

About you:

You must have a qualification in higher education at degree level and have BACP or UKCP accreditation. Those who are in the process of obtaining accreditation will not be considered. You should have substantial post-qualifying experience of providing short-term counselling to a linguistically and culturally diverse client group with a high level of social need.
