The working hours will be 36 hours per week to be worked over 5 days.

The Student Services Division supports students at each stage of their journey from pre-entry to post exit. The Division has a student orientated culture and puts students’ needs at the heart of everything it does.

As our Student Engagement Advisor, you will provide comprehensive, responsive and flexible support in the Student Support Centre, student communal areas and at other sites around a diverse range of pastoral issues as well as programmed enrichment and Students’ Union opportunities. You will work in close liaison with students, staff and external organisations to safeguard students and support them in achieving their full potential by offering holistic support including enrichment tailored to their needs.

Qualified to Level 3 or above in an appropriate subject (Youth and Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology or Health & Social Care), the successful candidate will have experience of youth and community work and/or targeted assessment, intervention and support. The successful candidate will have experience of managing and intensively supporting a caseload of student with complex or multiple needs. You will assist students with financial support applications and check all eligibility criteria, including the assessment of household incomes in accordance with College policy. 

Able to demonstrate knowledge of Safeguarding practices, data protection regulations and referral procedures in relation to student information, you will be able to work well independently and as part of a team and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to allow you to build rapport with a wide range of customers.

This position is based at Kingston College.
