Tuxford Academy has an exciting opportunity for a Student Safeguarding Officer to work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead in ensuring that appropriate arrangements for keeping children and young people safe are in place. 

Previous experience of working with children and families and with other agencies would be advantageous, preferably within an educational setting.


Job Title:                Student Safeguarding Officer 

Salary:                     Grade 5, actual salary £20,450 - £22,570 per annum

Hours of work:      37 hours per week, term time only 

Contract:                Permanent

Closing date:        17 July 2022


The ideal candidate will:          

  • Understand the social, emotional and mental health issues faced by young people and the impact on their wellbeing    
  • Have expert knowledge of legislation and guidance on safeguarding and working with young people, and hold  a Level 3 DSL Training Qualification    
  • Be able to work with a range of people with the aim of ensuring the safety and welfare of children    
  • Have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of students           
  • Be committed to the academy’s ethos of high expectation.
