Student Services supports students at each stage of their journey from pre-entry to post exit. The Service has a student orientated culture and puts students’ needs at the heart of everything it does.


The Student Support Administrator will provide responsive information and holistic, flexible support in the Student Support Centre, student communal areas and other sites where appropriate. You will act as a key triage point of referral in the Centre to ensure students are supported and signposted in a timely and appropriate manner. You will work closely with Student Engagement Advisers, the Service Head, students, staff, and external partners to support vulnerable students in achieving their full potential.


We’re looking for someone with a high standard of English language, as well as good written and verbal communication skills. You will have a high level of initiative, be able to work well under pressure and prioritise workload, demonstrating self-motivation at all times. You will have excellent organisation and administrative skills and be a proficient user of a variety of IT packages, including MS Office. Above all, you will have a strong customer focus, be highly approachable and have a calm and positive approach when it comes to communicating with the public and external partners.


This position is a cross-college position, working across Carshalton College and Merton College.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses. 

The college is situated in an environment surrounded by parks and ponds, but within a proximity of the towns of Sutton and Croydon. It is accessible from all areas of south London and its transport links also allow its students to be in the centre of London within 30 minutes.
