Contract: 30 hrs per week / TTO + PD Days

We have a vacancy for a Student Support Assistant - SEND 

The Academy  

On 1st March 2017 Rye Hills became part of Nunthorpe Multi Academy Trust which evolved from Nunthorpe Academy, a local outstanding secondary academy.  With the growth of Nunthorpe Multi Academy Trust, Rye Hills is at an exciting point in its development.  

Successful candidates will have a wealth of opportunities to support this growth and raise standards, with the added opportunities which being part of a multi-academy trust enables.  Rye Hills is a popular 11-16 academy, with approximately 900 students on roll.  

The academy is situated on an attractive, modern site on the outskirts of Redcar, in the North East of England.  

The Post 

Responsibilities include: 

• working with students individually or in small groups; 

• providing academic support or prompts in lessons; 

• supporting opportunities for students to attain their full social potential and be included into mainstream academy life; 

• working with any students who need support to flourish and achieve in a mainstream academy; 

The successful applicant will be: 

• reflective and adaptable in order to adjust their approach to each individual student; 

• empathetic and patient towards students that may have social, emotional and communication difficulties;    

• resilient and good humoured; 

• a good role model; 

• literate and numerate to enable them to support students effectively.  

You do not need to have experience in a similar job role as full training will be given, although experience in working with people with SEN and disability would be an advantage.
