The Lakes School is seeking an outstanding Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated Student Development Team.  The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the wider pastoral curriculum available to our SEND students and other students who require support but may not have an EHCP.  Experience in delivery of entry level qualifications, alternative provision, learning through the outdoor environment and leadership opportunities is essential.

The ability to build resilience, confidence and emotional intelligence in young people is essential, as is a sound understanding of the specific needs and barriers for SEND children.

The successful candidate will be required to work 1 to 1 and with small groups and to deliver a variety of programmes across four key areas including English and Maths, specific targeted interventions, developing social & emotional aspects and building resilience & confidence.

If you believe that SEND children should access a balance of academic support and personal development programmes, then this could be the post for you.

We are a high achieving, fully comprehensive school at the heart of the Lake District where all pupils have the opportunity to achieve within a caring learning community.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS and health check along with two satisfactory references. Applications will only be considered when submitted on a fully completed school application form. All applicants will be considered on the basis of their suitability for the post regardless of age, sex, race or disability.
