South Thames Colleges Group are now looking to recruit for a Student Support Services Coordinator to join them to provide support, information, advice and guidance to learners to improve their likelihood of successful completion of their programme and progression into further education, training and/or employment.
Providing leadership to the Student Support Team to ensure that the service is delivered in a customer oriented and professional manner, you will act as the first point of contact for the Student Support Team in the absence of the Head of Student Support Services and must maintain accurate reports of information relating to learners in order to monitor students at risk, student progress, achievement and outcomes.
With knowledge of post 16 education services and the issues that transition from pre to post-16 education may have for young people or those have been out of formal education for a while, you will have experience of working with learners from a range of diverse backgrounds and who are disaffected and/or disengaged from education services.
Candidates should also have an in-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation in regard to young people and vulnerable adults, current welfare rights and benefit legislation and issues and grants and funds available to learners.
