The successful applicant will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons for the position of Student Welfare Officer in our growing secondary college. The successful applicant will be required to work closely with others, including the APRE, to promote and develop student wellbeing, emotional resilience, positive relationships and a sense of community. Please refer to attached Archdiocese of Brisbane Role Description for more detail. The ability to obtain a Positive Notice to Work with Children (Blue Card) is essential.


St Benedict’s College is a developing co-educational secondary college which opened in January 2013. In 2019 the College will have approximately 730 students. The College provides a connection to secondary education for the students of St Benedict’s Primary School and other students in the growing communities of Mango Hill, North Lakes, Griffin, and the wider region. It is master planned as a six stream Year 7 to Year 12 College. Our College is committed to providing high quality contemporary education in a Catholic Christian context, embracing the spirit of St Benedict. Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   January - December 2019

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   28.5 hours per week, over 5 days

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 5, $31.91-$33.47 per hour

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
