Job overview

We require an enthusiastic and suitably qualified person for this student support focused position in our School. This is a part time, fixed term position commencing in July and concluding in December 2020. The hours for this role will be 15 hours over 3 days.

The successful applicant will be required to collaborate closely with others in our Pastoral and Support teams, including the Assistant Principal Religious Education and Guidance Counsellor, to promote and develop student wellbeing, emotional resilience, positive relationships and a sense of community. The role works closely with students, particularly those with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander or Mulitcultural backgrounds. Please refer to attached Role Description for more detail.

Applicants are required to possess either:
• A Certificate IV in Youth Work; or
• A Certificate IV in Pastoral Care; or
• An equivalent qualification.


St Ann’s School, Redbank Plains, is a Brisbane Catholic Education school which opened in January 2020. The school is located 35 minutes southwest of the Brisbane CBD between Ipswich and Springfield Lakes.

Commencing in 2020 with approximately 100 students from Prep to Year 3, it is anticipated the school will grow to over 500 students by 2025, with Prep to Year 6.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:
  Commencing 13th July 2020

Position Tenure:   Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   Terms 3 & 4 2020

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   15hours/week - 5 hours/day (Monday to Wednesday)

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 5 - $31.91

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
