Study Support Assistant (Afan College)

Study Support Assistant (Afan College) x 6 posts

To provide general support and enable access to learning opportunities for specified learners in a College based learning environment and/or Outreach Centres.  Support includes providing personal care for students as required; (some of which may be of an intimate nature e.g. toileting).  To provide support outlined in their personal, medical, and therapeutic care plans

Salary: Scale 2, Points 14-16, £18,328 - £19,258 per annum, pro rata.  (Equivalent to £7,915 - £8,317 per annum) 

Hours of Work: Band B.  19 – 24 hours per week (may include evenings and weekends).  

Contract: Part time, part year, 37.8 weeks per annum, fixed term until 1 July 2022.

Location: NPTC Group of Colleges (initially based at Afan College).      

Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a level 2 qualification in English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent) and be IT literate to level 2 (with a working knowledge of MS Office).  A level 2 qualification in Learning Support for Adults and Young People would be advantageous.
