Weston College are looking to recruit a Subject Area Manager for our newly developed Creative Digital Media Division within the Creative Arts Faculty based at Loxton Rd Campus.


The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated individual, who has a desire to lead a new team to success. The post is suitable for those looking to take the next step in their career moving into a middle management post. Some previous management experience is desirable but is not a requirement for the right candidate.


The Creative Arts Faculty management team are dedicated to the success of their respective divisional areas, and function well as a dynamic leadership team for the faculty. We use our creative problem-solving skills frequently to develop responsive solutions for students and staff alike. We also have an outward focus looking for opportunities to develop and grow each divisional area.


There is a teaching commitment within the role and new manager would be required to teach in one of our creative subjects, ideally Media, Photography or Game and Animation. This is not a limiting factor if your skills lie in other creative areas, and for the successful candidate we can accommodate this.

Our history - past to present

Weston College has served the education and training needs of its local community for more than 100 years. It has its origins in private drawing and painting classes provided by Henry Stacy in Oriel Terrace in 1859.

The School of Art was opened on 7 February 1865 under the auspices of the Government's Department of Science and Art, and with the aid of £40 collected from local residents. In its first year of existence the Principal was the only teacher and approximately 80 students attended the six classes held weekly.

Since 1 April 1993, the College has been an autonomous public body. It is funded directly by central government via the Learning & Skills Council (LSC).
