Job overview

Ruthin School is seeking to appoint a new Subject Lead for Music and Art from September 2022.

The post of Subject Lead for Music and Art at Ruthin School is a great opportunity for an inspiring leader in Wales’ oldest school.

Ruthin School is a co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 11 – 18 located in North Wales in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Ruthin School attracts highly academic and talented young people from around the globe. The school is particularly successful at helping students gain entrance to Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities.

This post will develop over time. Initially as a subject lead for music and art, the post will be focusing on developing these subjects to increase up-take of those studying GCSE and A level Music and Art. In addition, the post holder will develop the co-curricular provision for music within the school. It is hoped the departments will flourish under the guidance of this appointee and eventually form its own Faculty. We are looking for an innovative, vibrant and energetic teacher who will enthuse the development of music and art throughout the whole student body. This is a post which will suit someone who wishes to take on the challenge to build a department from the bottom up. There is ample scope for the post holder to make their mark on the school.

Further information about Ruthin School can be found on our School website and any interested candidates are invited to a confidential discussion with the Head. This can be arranged by contacting admissions@ruthinschool.co.uk

Covering letters and application forms should be submitted by 3rd December 2021.

Ruthin School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS.
