The Role We currently have an exciting opportunity to recruit an outstanding subject leader within the Faculty of Design Technology to join our supportive and highly resourced team in September 2018. We are looking for a resilient, innovative, and self-motivated leader that will contribute to the continued success of our cohesive and welcoming department. The successful applicant would be expected to teach a range of classes, including Key Stage 3 and 4, as well as Key Stage 5 lessons, where applicable. Much time is committed to developing a wide range of teaching and learning strategies to drive effective delivery of the subject, especially during the exciting developments of the newly revised specification for GCSE Design Technology. As a department at KS4 we follow the Eduqas Design Technology and Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE specifications in addition to BTEC Engineering. We are introducing A Level Engineering and Design Technology in September 2018, whilst continuing to successfully deliver the legacy BTEC Mechanical Engineering. Students enjoy their study as a consequence of the excellent facilities and heavily resourced environment for learning, which is reflected in the consistently excellent results.
