We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Subject Leader to lead this large, experienced and supportive team in its next steps. We are an organised and very well resourced department with over 140 students opting to take GCSE or BTEC in Key Stage 4 and a healthy Sixth Form uptake of 52 across 2 courses (A Level PE and BTEC Sport). The position would be supported by an ASL.

The successful applicant would join us at an exciting time as we move into a brand new school with outstanding facilities.

The successful candidate will lead, develop and manage the effective delivery of an outstanding curriculum, which enables the highest level of student progress and attainment. You will lead the professional community of PE teachers and promote outstanding teaching and learning and a strong school culture within a nurturing and rigorous environment.

Tring School is popular and over-subscribed, serving the town of Tring and the surrounding villages. It is a mixed Church of England all-ability school, 1500 on roll, over 300 Post-16. Academic attainment is well above average and improving year on year. The school strives to support and encourage individual growth within a caring community. We have a talented team of staff who are ambitious to become outstanding in all areas of our work. Ofsted Inspection November 2017 stated: ‘Pupils are highly motivated to learn.' ‘Teaching is good overall with outstanding features.’ Staff wellbeing is incredibly important to Tring School and we have a wellbeing team who organise events and surprises to support staff as well as links to external support via our Employee Assistance Program. All new staff members are allocated a coach to support them through their first year at Tring School. All staff receive high quality CPD opportunities provided to the whole school and within the department.
