Inscape House School is a non-maintained specialist day school for children and young people aged five to 19 years with autism spectrum conditions and related social communication difficulties.
As our subject lead for science…
You will ensure high-quality curriculum provision and effective teaching and learning with the subject curriculum area in KS1 to KS4 and post 16.
Creating a safe and stimulating environment for students, taking into account individual students’ sensory needs, you will develop goals that stretch and challenge all students throughout the school day and be accountable for each student’s attainment, progress and outcomes.
You will be aware of students’ capabilities and their prior knowledge and plan teaching to build on these and support them to reach their full potential.
About you
We’re looking for an individual who has Qualified Teacher Status or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills. You have experience of working with children with autism spectrum conditions and related communication and learning difficulties, ADHD, mental health needs and/or sensory processing issues.
With flexibility and a positive attitude to change, you will have knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum and the demands it places on children with special needs and be comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You have high levels of personal resilience and the ability to cope with challenging behaviour, whilst understanding of approaches and methodologies that can support children with autism. You may be familiar with approaches like TEACCH, SPELL, intensive interaction and PECs, alongside your
