Subject Leader - Food Technology

About the role: Required for January 2022, an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher and leader of Food Technology to join an outstanding Design Technology department with high numbers and located in a brand new custom-built Art and Technology Block. The successful candidate will:​​​​​​​

  • be an outstanding, classroom practitioner, or have the potential to become one
  • have an ability to teach and lead Food Technology
  • be committed to enabling all students to achieve their full potential
  • demonstrate enthusiasm for the subject
  • be able to contribute effectively as the Food Technology Leader in a team of 6 members of staff

The school is reintroducing Food Technology, initial at Key Stage 3 but then looking to expand the offer. We are looking for someone with a real passion for the subject who will manage this reintroduction and lead the subject once established. The successful candidate will have significant autonomy in establishing the subject and curriculum. Food Technology will take place in a purpose built, brand new room.  Teaching in the department is uniformly of high quality and pupil views of the department are excellent.
