We are looking for an outstanding classroom teacher, with proven leadership skills, to take-up the post of subject leader for History.  This position would be ideal for someone looking for their first step up towards Curriculum leadership.

This role requires an energetic and dedicated practitioner, who can make a significant contribution to our school community by engaging, enthusing and challenging staff and students to achieve their very best in the subject. You will have excellent subject knowledge and be well-informed on current educational developments and initiatives.

You would be joining a team of colleagues who are passionate about ensuring that all pupils enjoy the subject and are focused on securing the best outcomes for our students. We work collaboratively to share good practice, both within the department and across the school as a whole. Being a BSF and Google accredited school, we are very well-resourced with Promethean whiteboards and Chromebooks, with lesson being taught in modern, spacious classrooms.

We are looking for someone who can continue the great results already achieved by the hard work and dedication of pupils and staff in this department. Last year History outcomes dipped for the first time after many years of positive progress score.  We are looking for someone to come in and reverse this quickly through outstanding teaching and then develop the curriculum long term. 

The diverse curriculum offered at Witton Park supports a high up take for EBacc and option subjects. Outcomes for pupils in 2016 were judged to be good by Ofsted. The Ofsted report and website will give you a flavour for other aspects of the school.
